Mwanza receives grace, 2.6 billion to improve Health

      Government has sent sh. 2.6 billion in the City of Mwanza for the improvement of health facilities improvement in order to enhance access to health services to the population.

       This was revealed yesterday (Tuesday, February 20, 2018) when Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa examined and laid down the foundation stone of the Karume health facility.

         The Prime Minister examined the rehabilitation of the existing center in Bugogwa County Ilemela district on the sixth day of his professional visit to Mwanza.

        He said the improvement involved the construction of a surgeon, laboratory, opening room, mother and baby building and wardrobe for women and men.

      The Prime Minister said he was satisfied with the improvement of the center, where the Government intends to send sh. 200 million for purchase of various materials.

       He said the aim of the Government is to ensure that it improves health care around the people. Karume Health Center Improvement has cost approximately sh. 497 million so far.

       The Prime Minister added that President Kagame's strategy. John Magufuli is strengthening the health sector to ensure that people get treatment near their residential areas.

       In turn, the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, Dr. Faustine Ndungulile said the Government has provided sh. 2.6 billion for the improvement of health facilities in Mwanza.

        He said the funds are aimed at improving the centers so as to enable them to provide better services to city citizens including mother and baby health care, surgery and laboratory.

       Initially, the Prime Minister opened the Bulale Conventions in Buhongwa County in Nyamagana district and then gave medical identification to 250 adults. The total 5,398 elders in the district were given medical IDs.
